A Tale of Redemption: Golden Retriever Saved from 46-Pound Tumor and given new lease on life.

A growth on his side had caused him to have an additional weight of 46 pounds!

The dog’s situation was dire as he not only suffered from abandonment but also had a massive tumor weighing 46 pounds that prevented him from walking. The tumor put pressure on his right front leg, limiting his movement and ability to search for food. Sadly, he was at risk of starving to death within days. Fortunately, some kind individuals found the dog wandering along Newport Beach in California. Moved by the dog’s predicament, many people have reached out to Valerie Schomburg of Newport Beach Animal Control to help the dog. Despite being used to rescuing malnourished feral dogs, the rescue team was shocked by the dog’s terrible condition.

Thankfully, Henry’s story inspired donations from charities that enabled him to undergo a successful surgery to eradicate his tumor, which fortunately did not spread. Following the procedure, Henry was relieved of the most distressing aspect of his life and could move around with ease. From then on, he exuded joy and enthusiasm, greeting everyone he met with wagging tail and a smile. He showed his affection by showering anyone who approached him with kisses. Eventually, Henry found a loving family to adopt him and lived the rest of his days happily, making up for lost time.

Henry gained fame in his community and worldwide after his story was uncovered. He lived a joyful life until he passed away from old age, cherishing his time on this planet and experiencing love for the first time. Despite the sadness of his passing, something positive emerged from it. Further investigations led to the identification of Henry’s former owner, who is still awaiting trial following allegations brought by the OC District Attorney’s office.

Every creature, no matter how they look, should be treated with love and respect. It is comforting to know that Henry received the care and attention he deserved in his final days, without the burden of illness. The owner can learn from Henry’s loyalty and devotion, as he would never have left her like she did. We express our heartfelt gratitude for rescuing him. Take a look at the video below:
