Meet Bowie, the rescued kitty whose captivating blue and green eyes have stolen the hearts of countless online users. Bowie, a European Shorthair, has a unique condition known as heterochromia, which results in his eyes having different colors, making him a rare and stunning sight to behold.
According to Maria Lloret, Bowie’s owner and rescuer from Spain, the feline is extremely playful, sometimes excessively so, and loves to play with other cats, although not all cats reciprocate the sentiment. In our conversation with Maria, we will explore Bowie’s lively and playful personality while also discussing why adopting rescue animals is worthwhile. Don’t forget to show your support by upvoting Bowie’s most beloved photos!
Despite being named after the famous English musician David Bowie, Bowie’s owner acknowledges that the celebrity did not possess heterochromia. Nevertheless, it’s hard not to notice the resemblance between the two and wonder if the lovable kitty possesses any hidden musical talents.

What an amazing animal! Its hues are exceptionally striking and diverse, making one feel like they’ve been transported to a fantastical realm similar to Willy Wonka’s. With an assortment of stunning shades, ranging from delicate pink to deep blue, bright yellow to rich red and brown, there’s so much to admire. I even found myself capitalizing “White” unconsciously – a peculiar observation! Nevertheless, let’s continue appreciating this exceptional feline.

Bowie, like many felines, loves to snooze and eat. His owner, Maria, says he’s never met a meal he doesn’t like – when he spots a treat, he immediately starts purring. His preferred playthings are little mice that produce sounds when shaken, and watching him toss them in the air and catch them is quite entertaining. Bowie’s backstory is a heartwarming one: he was left in a park when he was just three months old but was discovered by a nearby animal shelter in Benidorm, where he eventually found his forever home with Maria.

Maria and her sister stumbled upon an advertisement seeking a family to adopt a cat, and they immediately fell in love with Bowie. Apart from his handsome appearance, Bowie’s affectionate personality and constant purring stole their hearts. When they brought him home, Bowie eagerly ate his food and snuggled up in Maria’s arms for a nap.
Maria revealed that all of her feline friends were rescue cats, and she couldn’t be happier. She firmly believes that rescuing animals from shelters instead of buying them can save lives. There are many animals waiting for a second chance at finding a loving home, and Maria actively advocates for adopting black cats, as they are often overlooked due to superstitions. She once had a black cat named Louis who wasn’t in the best health, but with some tender love and care, he transformed into an extraordinary companion. The family fondly remembers him.

According to the owner of Bowie, a feline with two different colored eyes, senior cats, those with disabilities, or illnesses, are often overlooked when it comes to finding homes. She explained, however, that these types of cats are excellent companions. Senior cats are more laid-back and won’t harm furniture. Cats with health problems can teach owners the value of patience and genuine love. Additionally, black cats are known for bringing good luck! Maria further added that some people have questioned why her cat is named Bowie, as the famous musician did not possess heterochromia. Nonetheless, she believes that Bowie is the perfect name for her pet, given his distinctive blue and green eyes and unique nose marking.
