In today’s society, it’s common to feel disheartened, prompting some to steer clear of social media altogether. However, for feline enthusiasts like ourselves, perusing through adorable cat photos brings about feelings of joy and elevates our mood. One such furry friend is Nora Jean, affectionately known as Nora Jean the Earless Queen. I came across her on Instagram and immediately recognized her worthiness of being showcased to spread her charm and bring a smile to others’ faces. Fortunately, Nora Jean’s affectionate owners were willing to answer my queries regarding her. Keep reading to uncover more about this exceptional cat whose cuteness is sure to warm your heart. But before we dive into her story, let’s take a moment to ponder why people turn to social media to find solace.
Roughly a year ago, my life changed for the better when I came across some pictures that caught my attention. While at work, I found myself frantically messaging a friend to ensure that I could adopt a specific cat. Despite my anxiety, I knew deep down that I needed this feline in my life. Miraculously, my wish was granted, and I was able to adopt her. Since then, Nora has brought so much joy into my life, even appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show and being shared all over the world.
I feel extremely fortunate to have her in my life and cherish every moment we spend together. My only desire is to have another 50 years or more with her! I would like to extend my gratitude to @ashdc98 for knitting the adorable ears that helped make Nora famous, and @dchsgiveshelter for introducing me to my best friend.
So, how did Nora come into my life? As a certified veterinary technician, I stumbled upon her up-for-adoption post on Dane County Humane Society’s Facebook page while at work. Upon seeing her, I knew she was the perfect fit for me. Despite residing in Milwaukee at the time, I left a comment claiming her. Thankfully, a friend agreed to pick her up for me, and my wife met them halfway to bring Nora directly to my workplace for a checkup.
Regarding her name, I wanted something that reflected her unique personality and appearance. After giving it some thought, I settled on “Nora No Ears.” Over time, this transformed into “Nora Jean the Earless Queen,” which suits her perfectly.
