When Tim was just a small kitten of three months old, he moved into what he believed would be his forever home. This charming tabby loved and had complete trust in his owner, never suspecting that his heart would be shattered after giving his owner his full trust.
Unfortunately, the cat was abandoned by his owner who gave him up to New York City Animal Care and Control (ACC) with the excuse that they had bought a new couch. It seems that the man was worried about the kitty scratching and damaging the new furniture, so he decided that the cat had to leave the house for good.
Tim was devastated and plunged into a deep sadness almost immediately. Unfortunately, his situation has continued to deteriorate. To make matters worse, Tim was added to the ACC’s euthanasia list, putting him in danger of losing not only his loved ones but also his own life.
On the day Tim was scheduled to be euthanized, Magnificat came to his rescue and saved his life. Magnificat is a group that focuses on rescuing and finding homes for abandoned cats. Thanks to their efforts, Tim was placed in a lovely foster home. However, Tim was still struggling emotionally and physically. He refused to eat or drink and had lost three pounds since being surrendered. His new foster family had to resort to force-feeding him to keep him alive, but he continued to lose weight despite their best efforts.
The sad and confused kitten longed to curl up into a ball of sorrow after being rejected by his family. Magnificat and Tim’s new foster parents had a strong desire to see Tim experience happiness and love for life once again. They provided him with all the affection and care he needed, hoping that Tim would eventually recover from his depression and find joy in life. With time, love, and care, Tiger Tim quickly made progress and overcame his depression, bringing back happiness to his life.
After a few months, Tiger Tim was diagnosed with cancer and the vet recommended putting him to sleep to prevent further suffering as fluid continued to build up in his chest cavity. The rescue group ultimately decided to do what was best for Tiger Tim. He peacefully passed away cradled in the arms of his foster mother while the staff comforted him with words of love and admiration. Despite the sadness of his passing, the care and love he received in his final days brought some happiness. His death was mourned by thousands on Facebook.
We appreciate the hard work of the kind-hearted people who dedicate themselves to rescuing animals in distress and bringing joy back into the lives of adorable little creatures like Tim. However, we would also like to remind everyone about the importance of responsible pet ownership. Cats, dogs, and all other animals are sentient beings with emotions too. They experience happiness when they feel loved and sadness when they are abandoned. Pet owners must understand that their pets are not mere toys that can be discarded when they are no longer wanted or needed.
